Ingredients:
- 1 pound loaf frozen bread dough
- 3 slices provolone cheese
- 1/2 stick margarine, melted
- 1 pound bulk sausage, turkey or pork
- 4 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated
- garlic powder
- cayenne pepper
- poultry seasoning
- sage
Thaw dough and roll into rectangle-about 1/2 inch thick.
Cook sausage with cayenne, poultry seasoning and sage to taste.
Melt butter and add garlic powder. Brush melted butter mixture onto dough. Lay 3 slices of provolone cheese on top of butter. Sprinkle cooked sausage over cheese slices. Top with grated mozarella cheese. Press toppings lightly into dough.
Roll dough up, jelly roll style, sealing ends of loaf tightly. Brush with remaining butter.
Place diagonally on cookie sheet, with seam side down. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool about 5 minutes. Slice and serve.
This is good served cold as an appetizer or used in a lunchbox instead of an ordinary sandwich.
